Paul Edwin Abler, age 74, of rural St. Cloud died peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021 with his loving family at his side. Paul was born on November 25, 1946 to the late Clemens and Genevieve (Entringer) Abler. He served his country in the United States Army and United States Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972. On June 7, 1969, he married Patricia Schaefer at St. Cloud Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Paul was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud Church where he served as Treasurer and ushered over his many years with the parish. Paul was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Abler of St. Cloud; loving father to Chad (Shelly) Abler of Random Lake, Craig (Erin) Abler of St. Cloud, and Michelle (Dan) Liedtke of Gulfport, FL; loving grandfather to Bennett, Madelyn, and Silas Abler, brother to Carol (Joe) Schmitz; brother-in-law of Ron (Mary) Schaefer of St. Cloud, Bill (Jean) Schaefer of Fond du Lac, Jerry (Deanna) Schaefer of North Fond du Lac, and Larry (Mary) Schaefer of St. Cloud, Judy (Bob) Grantz of Rapid City, SD, Rose Ziebert of Fond du Lac, Shirley Fox of Brooklyn, WI, and Kathy Abler of Fond du Lac. Paul is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceding Paul in death were his wife Patricia; parents, Clemens and Genevieve; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Alice Schaefer; brothers Kenneth and Duane; and two nephews Dean Schmitz and Scott Schaefer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-St. Cloud Church, 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Randy Knauf, OFM Capuchin will officiate. Paul will be laid to rest in the St. Cloud Cemetery.
