Obituary

Randy Ray Bacon, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 8, 2018. Randy was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on August 29, 1952, the son of Raymond L. and Lillian (Vilski) Bacon. He graduated from Goodrich High School in 1970, served in the US Marine Corps, and obtained a welding certificate from MPTC. On November 28, 1975, he married Mary Beth Goerlitz at First Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac. Randy was a long-time member of First Presbyterian, where he served as a Deacon and usher. He enjoyed life! Randy loved fishing, deer hunting, and was a modern train buff, but most important to him was the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren. If anyone can find the "missing shoe", please notify the family. Randy is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; daughter, Stephanie (Mike) Gonzalez of Fond du Lac; his sons, Carl (Kim) Bacon of Eau Claire, and Mark (Angie Kraemer) Bacon of Chilton; sister, Carol Foster-Curran (Carey Curran) and 8 grandchildren, Ray Aguilar-Meza, William Bacon, Chloe Bacon, Brenna Kraemer, Joey Kraemer, Gideon Bacon, Simon Bacon, and Lillian Bacon. He is further survived by his mother-in-law Arline Goerlitz; his brothers-in-law Albert C. (Peggy) Goerlitz and Paul (Beth) Goerlitz; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in law, Albert Goerlitz. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 Fourth Street, Fond du Lac, Saturday, January 20, from 9:30 a.m. to the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Jack Harrison will officiate. American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 will conduct military honors. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, Fond du Lac or Albert J. and Arline M. Goerlitz Scholarship (Neenah High School) or the charity of your choice.
