Obituary

Raymond J. Wagner, 89, of St. Peter, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born May 29, 1921, to the late Leo & Clara (Schneider) Wagner. On April 11, 1944, he married Valeria Stephany at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. Valeria preceded him in death on September 18, 2006. Ray farmed in the Town of Taycheedah near St. Peter until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Holy Name Society, St. Peter Athletic Club, We Love to Dance Club and the German-American Society. Survivors include his five children, John (Claudia) Wagner of Malone, Dan (Barbara) Wagner of Rockford, IL, Sue (Pete) Schumacher of St. Peter, Mary (Gary) Kelm of St. Peter and Raymond Jr. "Butch" (Mary Ellen) Wagner of Malone; Ray's special friend and companion, Marlene Neuber of Chilton; 15 grandchildren, Aimie (Terry) Bertram, Ben (Jenny) Wagner, Carl (Jessy) Wagner, Dena (Marty) Entringer, Ed Wagner and his fiancé' Christy Lichtenwald, Stephanie and Jackie Wagner, Mark (Staci) Schumacher, Mike Kelm, Joe (Brenda) Kelm, Matt Kelm, Tom (Mindy) Wagner, Becky (Mitch) Redig, Jenny Wagner and Steven Wagner and his special friend, Annie; 15 Great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbert (Betty) Wagner of Glenbeulah and Gerald (Jenny) Wagner of St. Peter; five sisters, Delores Wagner of San Francisco, CA, Orlina Wagner of Fond du Lac, Eleanor Wagner of Fond du Lac, Irma (Rolland) Wolff of Fond du Lac, and Marilyn Wagner of Palm Harbor, FL. He is further survived by a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Valeria, and an infant daughter, Jane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Holy Family Parish St. Peter Church N8079 Church Road Malone, WI. Rev. Luke Strand will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street in St. Cloud on Tuesday, November 16th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and at the church in St. Peter Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services. "Our family wishes to express a sincere heartfelt appreciation to the physicians and staff at St. Agnes Hospital especially the Intensive Care Unit and the Neuro Rehab Unit and the Hospice Home of Hope for their loving care given to our dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend these past two weeks".
