Reverand Harold L. Berryman, age 89, of New Holstein, entered eternal life on January 22, 2021, at the age of 89. Father Berryman was born January 2, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to Lewellyn T. & Evelyn C. (Smith) Berryman. He had one brother and one sister. He attended high school at St. Joseph Seminary, Grand Rapids, and then Saint Nazianz Seminary, Saint Nazianz. He entered St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee, where he earned a degree in philosophy and theology. Bishop Stanislaus V. Bona ordained him to the priesthood on May 31, 1958, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. Father Harry's first priestly appointments were as Assistant Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Luxemburg, and then St. Peter Church, Oshkosh. In 1961, he was appointed Chaplain of the Newman Center of Oshkosh. His next Assistant Pastor position was at St. Matthew Parish, Green Bay. His first appointment as a Pastor was of St. Mary of the Lake Parish, Lakewood, where he served from 1968-1970. Fr. Harry served many parishes in the diocese including St. Patrick Parish, Green Bay, St. Mary Church, Manitowoc, St. Bernadette Parish, Appleton, St. Ann Parish, Saint Anna, and Holy Rosary Parish, New Holstein. He was granted Senior Priest Status in 2011. The Funeral Liturgy, expressing our faith and our hope in the promised glory of the Lord's Resurrection, will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Holy Rosary Parish, 1724 Madison Street, New Holstein, WI 53061. Most Rev. David Ricken will preside and Reverend Thomas Reynebeau will be the homilist. Burial will be immediately after the Mass at Holy Rosary Cemetery in New Holstein. Visitation/Wake: The visitation for Father Berryman will be held at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home Wednesday morning, January 27th from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
