Richard "Dick" Giese

Richard “Dick” Giese, age 84, a Brillion resident, died Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.

He was born on April 24, 1937 in Green Bay, son of the late Frank and Hattie (Mikle) Giese. On June 10, 1961 he married the former Shirley Seidl in Seymour. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2009. Dick was employed at Brillion Iron Works, starting in farm equipment and finishing his career in the core room, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed spending time with people, whether it was camping, traveling, hunting, going to the cabin, fishing, or four wheeling, he enjoyed it more when friends and family were part of the adventure.  Dick could fix anything. It was said, “if Dickie couldn’t fix it, then throw it out!”

Survivors include his children: David (Karen), Chilton, Joe (Michelle), Sherwood, Carl (Beckie), Bonduel, John (Shirley), Brillion, and Kevin (Brenda), Chino Valley, AZ.; his grandchildren: Kayla (Jake Wagner), Milwaukee, Renee, Sherwood, Jacob & Jessica, Bonduel, Ashley & Jordan, Brillion, Zachary (Amber), Germany and Nathan, AZ.; one brother and sister-in-law: Donald & Donna Giese, Cecil; a brother-in-law: Leo King, Green Bay; and other in-laws: LouAnn Seidl, Hilbert; Bill (Jean) Seidl, Seymour and Diane (Mark) Engel, Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley, an infant son: Matthew; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joseph & Leona (Pantzlaff) Seidl; a sister-in-law: Eunice King and a brother-in-law: Bob Seidl.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Barbara Loose with burial at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Seymour. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, from 4:00 p.m. Thursday until 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be made.
