Obituary

Richard "Dick" D. Olig, of Johnsburg passed away September 7, 2023 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with his family by his side. He was born on November 11, 1947 to Leander and Anna Mae (Taff) Olig. He graduated from St. Mary Springs in 1965. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked at Kohler Company for 37 years until his retirement.

On November 26, 1971 he married the love of his life Linda Merten on a snowy winter day.

Dick enjoyed cottage life in Iola WI and 4-wheeling in Mountain WI. Through the years, he enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, golfing, hunting, sturgeon spearing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his son, Chris (Lisa) Olig; their children Karly and Kegan; his daughter, Jenni (Rodd) Hoefler; their daughter Chayse; siblings, Gary (Monica) Olig; Linda Smith; Pam (Larry) Petrie; Mona (Bob) Behlke; Lee (Lorrie) Olig; sisters-in-law, Grace (Paul) Sabel and Rachel Olig; mother-in-law Gertrude Merten; in-laws, Nancy Lee (Paul) Birschbach; Dick Merten; Betty Merten; Andy (Shelly) Merten; Pam (Ron) Schmitz; Keith (Selina) Merten; and Glen (Kelly) Merten.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leander and Anna Mae; brothers, Joe and Denny; brother-in-law, Tom Smith; father-in-law, Jerry Merten and sister in-law, Jane Merten.

No services will be held as to Dick's wishes. Memorials in his name can be forwarded to the American Legion Post 454, 107 Fond du Lac St., Mt. Calvary, WI. 53057

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and ICU nurses for their care and compassion during his stay.
