Richard Vernon Rogers Jr. age 33, and his dog Emma, died doing what he loved most, long haul trucking, on May 19, 2010 in Florida. He stayed with Lisa and Frank Schwalbach in Portage, but formerly lived in Stockbridge. He was born on Dec. 24, 1976 in Fond du Lac, son of Karen (Petrich) Rogers and the late Richard Vernon Rogers Sr. His first job at the age of 16 was at Stockbridge Manufacturing. He graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1995 and was currently employed at AS&G Trucking of Lodi. Survivors include his mother Karen Rogers of Menasha, a brother David Lewis Rogers and special friend Robyn and their son Hunter of Brillion a sister Barbara Kelly (Jason) Piechowski of Florida, grandparents, Barbara & Lewis Tidd and Carole & William Rogers all of New York, Special friends Lisa & Frank Schwalbach and their children Trenton and Desiree of Portage, a special niece Kyla Rogers, special cousins Dylan Christie and Jordan Lino-Olp, Rickys cat Falon, and many other aunts, uncles cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Rogers Sr. and his grandparents Darlene and Hubert Petrich Sr. A memorial service for Ricky will be held on Wed. June 2nd at 3:30 p.m. at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wed. from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Rickys name. The family wants to send out a special thanks to Lance and Kacie Hinkle Woods for all the help and support given to Rickys family at their time of need, and to Ralph Acocella Jr. for giving Ricky his last ride back to Wisconsin.
