Richard M. Vollmer, age 65, of the Town of Forest (rural Mt. Calvary), passed away suddenly, Monday, July 21, 2014 after suffering a heart attack. He was born March 29, 1949 to the late Merl and Rachel (Edwards) Vollmer. He attended Wales Grade School, Waukesha High School, LeTourneau University in Texas, and MSOE. On June 2, 1973 he married Janice Palmersheim. He was employed with Inland Diesel earlier in his working years and later farmed in the Town of Forest. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church. Survivors include his wife, Janice; his five children, James Vollmer at home, Dennis Vollmer (Fiance' Danielle) of Helenville, Cheryl Vollmer of Platteville, Jennifer Vollmer at home, and Joseph Vollmer at home; his sister, Mary Sue (Imants) Strautin of Boston, MA. He is further survived by Barbara Vollmer; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Allen (Luvern) Palmersheim of Franksville, his in-laws, Marilyn (Larry) Beier of East Troy, Dave (Rose) Palmersheim of Franksville, Diane (Jerry) Brunner of Wind Lake, Karen Palmersheim and her husband Randy Jardanowski of Sun Prairie. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Sippel Funeral Home in St. Cloud 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in the Town of Forest.
