Robert "Bimp" A. Baumgartner, age 66, of St. Cloud, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 13, 2014, while on his hunting land. This was his favorite place to spend his spare time.
He was born August 26, 1948, to the late Victor & Isabella (Dugelman) Baumgartner.
Bob graduated from New Holstein High School in 1966. He served in the Army from 1967 until 1969, including 1 ½ years in Vietnam.
On July 30, 1977, he married Sandy Krebsbach. They were married for 37 years.
Bimp had worked for Feldner Construction, Don Smoot Construction, D.R Kohlman, and most recently with Maple Valley Heating & Cooling.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy; his daughter, Jodi (Richard) Schmidt of Plymouth; his son, Mark (Carrie) Baumgartner of St. Cloud; four grandsons which he referred as "my good friends", Kayden, Richard, Deklan, & Jackson; his first born granddaughter, Raegen, which stole a piece of his heart and has enough memories to last a life-time; two brothers, Victor "Red" (Valerie) Baumgartner and Larry "Honda" (Bonnie) Rieder both of St. Cloud; brother-in-law, Steve (Judy) Thiede of St. Cloud; further survived by his wife's family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Patricia "Pattie" Thiede.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 17, 2014, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Cloud Church 924 Main Street St. Cloud, WI 53079. Rev. Gary Wegner OFM Cap will officiate. Military Rites conducted by the St. Cloud American Legion Harvey Blonigen Post 478 will take place following the mass. Bob will be laid to rest in the St. Cloud Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud on Sunday, November 16th from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and again at the funeral home Monday, November 17th from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM when brief rites will be held.
Memorials in Bob's name may be directed to the family for St. Isidore Parish.
