Robert "Bob" Bock

Robert “Bob” G. Bock, age 83, of Brillion, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home on the lake, with his family by his side.

Bob was born on April 9, 1933 in Sheboygan, son of the late Alvin and Josephine (Mikalowsky) Bock.  He was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, class of 1951.  Upon graduation, Bob enlisted and served our country in the United States Air Force in their new technology department working with radar.  Bob went on to be a civilian contractor with the Air Force, spending time in Korea, Japan, Germany, and the longest being California for 40 years.  He was an engineer and later promoted to the Director of Marketing with ITT Gilfillan.  Upon retirement, “Big City Bob” moved to the lake to have fun, drink single malt scotch, go fishing, and spending time with friends.  He also enjoyed his trips to Mexico for fishing and spending time with his son Robert Jr.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Robert Jr. and Jeanne Bock of Burbank, CA; one brother: Donald “Sonny” Bock of AZ; one sister: Charlotte Fern of Sheboygan; one sister-in-law: Jean Bock of MI; mother of his son: Eveline (Peter) Lyman; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the extended family in and around Bullhead Lake.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Alvin “Nick” Bock, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Frank Fern, Jr.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Wieting Funeral Home, 215 S. Main St. in Brillion.  Military rites will be accorded by the Bloedorn, Becker, Jensen Post 126 of Brillion.
