Robert "Bob" M. Stanick

May 9, 1946 — November 12, 2020

Robert M. Stanick, age 74, of Brillion, passed away peacefully at home on November 12, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Bob was born on May 9, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Alexander and Marie (Kidd) Stanick.  His family moved to southern California when Bob was a child, and he graduated from Kenoga Park High School, class of 1964.  He was a genius with machines and engines, and he had an innate ability to be able to fix anything by just hearing it run.  He worked at American Metals in Corona, CA where he met the love of this life, Marylou Burger.  They were married on July 29, 1981.  Before the couple married, they came to Wisconsin.  Bob worked at Oster in Milwaukee until he decided to start his own business involving induction melting and foundry furnace repair.  He did a slow retirement when he was given a cancer diagnosis in 2015.  Bob and Marylou enjoyed traveling together.  Many times this happened when they would go to different drag racing events.  There was a special connection for Bob with all of his drag racing friends that his family will always cherish.  Bob loved being outside at their home in Random Lake, chopping wood, clearing brush, and breathing the fresh air.  The couple moved to Brillion a year ago to be closer to family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marylou; children and their spouses: Bob (Danielle) Stanick of Brillion and Laura (David) McLain of Apple Valley, CA; grandchildren: Samantha (Tim) Jeffers of Potter, Jordan Stanick and Amanda Stanick of Brillion; Deanna (Brian) Workman, David McLain, and Kristina (Luke) Workman, all of Apple Valley, CA; great-grandchildren: Abel, Qwynne, Lilly, Abby, and Aubrey; one brother: Jim Stanick of Alabama; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marybeth (Larry) Imhoff of La Cross, Maryann (Bill) Rowe of Arkansas, Marylee (Werner) Blum of Oconomowoc, Don (Lora) Burger of Tennessee, Joe (Edie) Burger of Palm Desert, CA, and Tom Burger of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Don and Mary (Graham) Burger, and one sister-in-law: Yoshoko Burger.

Because of the pandemic, the family will have a celebration of life for Bob at a later date.
