Robert "Bob" Brekke, 72, of Kiel, WI passed away at home on Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was born in Wausau on August 30, 1938 to the late Andrew and Genevieve Brekke. He grew up in Cudahy and graduated from Cudahy High School. Bob was employed as a machinist at Ladish Co. for 40 years. He also was a member of the AFL-CIO IAM 1862. Upon retirement in 1996, he and his wife, Shirley (nee Weed) moved to Kiel. They celebrated their 52nd anniversary on September 27, 2010 with their family. Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; his son, Robert Brekke II of St. Charles, IL; his daughter, Susan (Wayne) Piontek of Muskego, WI; grandchildren, Holly & Mallory Piontek and Anna & Robby Brekke; his brother, Rodale (Karla) Brekke of Fremont; his sister, Genevieve Miller of Oak Creek; his step-mother, Leona Lund Brekke of Cushing; two step-brothers, Sidney (Marge) Lund of Cudahy and David (Maria) Lund of St. Croix Falls; his step-sister, Lois Andree of Cushing; three sisters-in-law, Carol Brekke of Rhinelander, Betty (Gosbert) Krenz of Milwaukee and Juanita Weed of Hartland. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brothers, Ronald and Andy. Bob was an avid and accomplished hunter and fisherman all his life. He enjoyed many great trips and loved to be out on the lake or in the woods. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather and derived great joy from his family. He will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Redeemer Lutheran Church 1808 Eastern Avenue in Plymouth, WI. Family and friends may gather at the church beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday morning. Memorials in Bob's name may be directed to his family. The family would like to thank the staff at Sharon S.
