Robert "Bob" E. Kind
Robert "Bob" E. Kind, 55, of N1895 Orchard Road New Holstein died Friday October 2, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton after suffering a cardiac arrest the previous Friday.
He was born October 15, 1953 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac to the late Edwin Jr. and Veronica (Heimerman) Kind. Bob graduated from New Holstein High School in 1972.
On April 24, 1976 he married Patricia Wolf at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Kiel. Bob continued to assist on the family farm until 1991. He was employed with Kohler Company since 1981.
Bob was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Kohler Company Quarter Century Club. He had a great love for sports and was a talented athlete, starting in high school with wrestling and football. He later played semi-professional football with the Sheboygan Redwings. Bob was an avid Packers, Brewers, and college football fan. He also enjoyed participating in the Kohler golf outings and exercising at the New Holstein High School fitness center.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of New Holstein; his five children, Amy (Michael) Silha of Greenville and their daughter, Kathryn, Angela (Gordon) Book of Porter, Indiana, Amanda Kind and her special friend, Jeff Gruenke of Random Lake, Eric Kind of New Holstein, and Michael Kind of New Holstein; his sister, Sandy Kind of Scandinavia, WI and her special friend, Jeff Tryba; his mother-in-law, Lois Wolf of New Holstein and three brother's-in-law, Conrad (Carol) Wolf of Elkhart Lake, Michael (Chris) Wolf of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and James (Patty) Wolf of New Holstein. He is further survived by his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edwin Jr. & Veronica Kind and his father-in-law, Robert Wolf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday October 10, 2009 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, will officiate. A private inurnment service will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. New Holstein on Friday October 9th from 4-8 PM and again Saturday morning from 9-10 AM when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.
A Wake Service will be held at 7:30 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Bob's name.
Bob's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bob's friends, Roger Koepke and Danny Suttner, NewHolstein First Responders, New Holstein Police Department, Calumet County Sheriff's Department, Calumet Medical Center ambulance and emergency room staff, Theda Star Staff, and physicians and nurses in the Cath Lab, ICU, and 4th floor, spiritual services, supporting staff, and volunteers at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Bob truly loved his family. He enjoyed spending time, making jokes, and laughing with them. He highly valued the friendships he had. Bob will always be loved, remembered, and truly missed. We love you, your family.
