Robert “Bob” Mathiebe, age 81 of Brillion, died on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Garrow Villa in Brillion. He was born on March 28, 1934 in Green Bay, son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Reichardt) Mathiebe. Bob married Janet Popp on November 16, 1957 in Potter. He served in the Army National Guard for 8 years, and worked for Brillion Public Schools for 26 years. He then worked at Endries International and was co-founder of Professional Plating INC in Brillion for 22 years. He served on the Brillion City Council for 10 years and served as the mayor for the City of Brillion for 15 years. Bob was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion where he served as president and was active in many other committees. He was a former member of the Brillion JayCees and the Brillion Optimist Club. Survivors include his wife, Janet, 4 daughters, Denise (John) Hinz, Diane (Al) Rehme, Darla (Gregg) Ripley, Dawn (Dan) Dietrich, 3 sons, David (Verna) Mathiebe, Don (Karen) Mathiebe, Darrell (Marge) Mathiebe, 20 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a sister, Jean Verbockel, 2 brothers, William Mathiebe and Terry (Deb) Mathiebe, his mother-in-law, Leona Popp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerome (Carol) Popp and Joanne (Charlie) Bernhardt and other nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Debra, 3 brothers, Richard, Michael and James, sister-in-law, Marlys Mathiebe, brother-in-law, Alvin Verbockel and father-in-law, George Popp. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at NOON at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. The Revs. Ross Henzi and Thomas Fricke will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
