Robert A. Nett, age 86, formerly of Chilton, died Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the Willowpark Residence in New Holstein. Bob was born April 18, 1927, near Marytown to the late Joseph Nett & Frances (Seuer) Nett Goeser. He attended school in Garnett, Marytown and Charlesburg. Bob served in the Army in Austria from July 21, 1945 to March 11, 1947. On September 11, 1951, he married Martha Koehler. Bob farmed in the Town of Brothertown and also worked at H. C. Timm Company in New Holstein. In his earlier working years, he hauled milk for Glen Thielmann. He liked hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish in Chilton; a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg; and a member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124. Survivors include his wife, Martha; two children, Beverly (Harold) Marchant of Sun Prairie and Gary Nett of Cascade and his special friend, Mary Meyers; four grandchildren, Roberta Marchant, Ryan (Megan) Marchant, Brad Marchant, and Adam Nett; a great-granddaughter, Neeve, and another great-grandchild due in fall; two sisters, Esther (Albert) Daun of Chilton and Donna Heimermann of Kiel; his in-laws, Sally Krause of New London, Dorothy Van Asten of Kaukauna, Art (Germaine) Koehler of Arizona, Donna Koehler of Texas, and Jerome (Karen) Koehler of Sturgeon Bay. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph & Frances Nett; his step-father, John Goeser; and his in-laws, Lester Heimermann, Harold Braatz, Ray Van Asten, Melvin Koehler, Harvey (Anita) Bernard, Francis (Monica) Dorn, Ronald Koehler, and Arthur Krause. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Church 62 E. Main Street Chilton, WI 53014. Rev. Larry Abler OFM Cap. will officiate with Deacon Dennis Bennin assisting. Military Rites conducted by the New Holstein American Legion Post 124 will take place after the mass. Burial will take place at the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg. Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Ave. New Holstein, WI 53061 on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 4-8:00 PM and Saturday morning at Good Shephard Church 9:30-10:30 AM. The Rosary will be recited at the Sippel Funeral Home Friday evening at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund will be established in his name.
