Obituary

Ronald R. Forstner, age 85, of New Holstein, passed away peacefully Monday, July 17, 2017. Ron was born April 16, 1932, in Chilton to Jerome & Kathryn (Pirkov) Forstner. He attended Green Bay West High School and graduated in 1951. On May 17, 1958, he married the former Barbara Spletter at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Holstein. Ron served in the U.S. Airforce from January 26, 1952 until January 25, 1956. After serving in the Airforce, Ron began working as an installer for the Wisconsin Telephone Co. for a brief time and in November of 1958; he began working at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein where he remained until retiring on April 16, 1997. After retiring, he spent a lot of his free time doing carpentry work and mechanical repairing; as well as finding a little bit of time to sneak in some fishing. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Holstein, where he served as an elder and usher for many years. Ron was also a member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124 and a retired member of the New Holstein Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at their cottage. Family meant the most to him; he truly cherished his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his three daughters, Lori Mueller (special friend, David Wood) of Fond du Lac, Ann (Steve) Bartel of Fond du Lac and Linda (Chuck) Konen of Malone "St. Peter"; six grandchildren, Mesha (Josh) Abler, Kyle Price, Joe Bartel (fiance', Kayla), Kristin Bartel, Brad (Cassie) Konen and Kayla Konen (special friend, Danny); eight great-grandchildren, Trenton, Ethan, Owen, Beckhem, Mya, Rylan, Gracyn & Aubryn; his sister, Mae (Leo) Gibertini; his sisters-in-law, Lula Forstner, Doris Powell, Shirley Blade and Sandra (Edwin) Cunningham, and Mary Jo Spletter; his brothers-in-law, Donald Spletter, Elroy Spletter and Lee (Cheri) Spletter. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Barbara; his brother, David Forstner. Ron was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 1702 Van Buren Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Azor Cigelske will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date this summer at the Countryview Cemetery in the Town of New Holstein.
