Ronald "Ron" N. Urban

Ronald “Ron” N. Urban, age 84, formerly of Reedsville, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Caring Hands Assisted Living in New Holstein with his family by his side.

Ron was born on October 11, 1938, son of the late George and Leona (Schroeder) Urban. He was a graduate of Kiel High School with the class of 1956. Ron served in the United States Army and attended barber school. Over the years, Ron was a jack of all trades. He owned and operated his own barber shop in Reedsville and had his real estate license. Ron was also employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilders, Endries International and was the owner of the trailer court in Reedsville for many years. On August 9, 1986 he married the former Judy Winter at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton and the Rockea Hunting Club in Collins. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, traveling, spending time at the cottage, bus trips and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include his wife: Judy Urban; five children: Candy (Jody) Chaussee, Carleen (Patrick) Harel, William (Debbie) Urban, Andrew Urban, Tamara (Glenn) Schwalbe; 13 grandchildren: Marcus (Maddy), Ryan, Jenna, Keaton (Taylor), Mikael, Carrie, Jason, Stephanie, Shannon, John, Emily, Tanya and Justin; great grandchildren; one brother: Gerald (Sharon) Urban; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: James Winter, Wayne Winter and Carlys Hillmann. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Daniel Urban; two sisters-in-law: Mary Hillmann and Margaret Winter; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Walter and Irene Winter.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Drive, Chilton). Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas Schmitt with military honors to be accorded by the AMVETS Post 1032, of Reedsville, to follow the service.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Chilton, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth, at a later date.
