Ronald Joseph Shamburek, age 71 of Brillion, died on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. He was born on April 26, 1944 in Manitowoc, son of the late George and Mary (Novachek) Shamburek. Ron married Peggy Behnke on April 26, 1985 in Chilton. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry #377 out of Manitowoc. After his military service, Ron worked at the Ariens Company in Brillion for 47 years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and camp, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion, a lifetime member of the Reedsville Sportsman’s Club and a member of Rockea Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife Peggy, a daughter, Brenda (Keith) Buchholz of Chilton, a son Brad (Amanda) Shimek of Brillion, 5 grandchildren, a sister Janice (Larry) Zahorik of Reedsville, a brother George (Betty) Shamburek of Reedsville, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen Bissonnette and Susan (Ron) Kleinhans all of Chilton, Sally (Blain) Keuer and Patsy (Dan) Geiger all of Brillion, Randy Behnke of Racine and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Herbert and Doris Behnke and a great niece Ellie Shamburek. Private funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Timothy Brandt will officiate. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
