Obituary

Rosemary C. (Kraus) Baus, age 91, formerly of rural Fond du Lac, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.

She was born October 22, 1931, to Edward & Anna (Schaefer) Kraus. She attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School.

On June 13, 1953, she married Jerome Baus at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. Jerome preceded her in death on December 9. 2015.

Rosemary helped alongside her husband on their farm near Mount Calvary until retiring.

Rosemary liked fishing, cooking & baking, canning, crocheting, working on crafts, and playing sheepshead. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great-grandchildren was what she truly enjoyed the most.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary and the Christian Women's Society.

Survivors include her five children, Jim (Jean) Baus of Mount Calvary, Ron (Mary) Baus of Mount Calvary, Rose Ann (Ken) Sabel of Mount Calvary, Catherine (Jim) Will of Van Dyne, and Joe Baus of Mount Calvary; 12 grandchildren, Becky Baus (fiancé, Ben) Travis (Erin) Baus, Jason (Diana) Baus, Stephanie Baus, Jacob Baus (friend, Lauren), Scott (Johanna) Sabel, Kris (Joe) Schroeder, Bob (Ashley) Sabel, Katie (Kyle) Baileys, Steve (Laura Lee) Stahmann, Stan Stahmann (friend, Katie) and Scott Jr. (Bri) Stahmann; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joanie Freund of New Holstein; sisters-in-law, Betty M. Kraus of Marytown and Cecelia Petrie of Glenbeulah; brothers-in-law, Anthony (Lily Mae) Baus of Fond du Lac, Joe Schaefer of Glenbeulah, and Carl Welsch of Plymouth.

Preceding Rosemary in death were her husband, Jerome; her parents, Edward & Anna Kraus; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Leo & Lucy Baus; a granddaughter, Angela Baus, sisters, Loretta (Leo) Morgan and Laurina (Francis) Schumacher; her brothers, Melvin (Alma) Kraus and Benno Kraus; Brothers-in-law, Francis Petrie, Leo D. Baus, and Wilmer Freund; and sisters-in-law, Anna Marie Ziegelbauer Schaefer and Verna Baus Welsch.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Mike Petrie will officiate. Entombment will take place at Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Rosemary's family at the church in Mount Calvary on Monday, November 28th from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Memorials may be directed to the family for the Cristo Rey Ranch.

Rosemary's family expresses their sincere appreciation to Sr. Jenada, Ann Mischo, Sr. Stephen, Sr. Michael, Bob & Mary Ann Lamers, the Villa Loretto Staff, Hospice, Fr. Oliver, Fr. Paul, and Fr. Mike Petrie for your prayers and caring for our mom, grandma, and great grandma.
