Royal E. Meetz

September 4, 1952 — June 2, 2023

Royal E. Meetz, age 70, a Brillion resident, died Friday afternoon, June 2, 2023 at Ascension Calumet Hospital, Chilton. He was born on September 4, 1952, son of the late William and Helen (Zick) Meetz. Royal was a graduate of Brillion High School, class of 1970. Royal married Deborah Jacob, and they shared many wonderful years together until she passed away on August 20, 2016. Royal was employed at Ariens Company for a number of years before driving school bus for the Brillion Public School District.    He enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working. Survivors include his children: Mike Meetz and special friend Wanita, Bill Meetz, Lacy (Eric) Eickert, and Lucy (fiance’ Billy Potter) Meetz; grandchildren: Whitney, Chase, Peyton, and Emmitt; step children: Bill (Shanna) VanAsten and Nicole Hawtrey; step grandchildren: Allie, Joe, Noah, and Evie; his siblings: Otis (Sandy), Silas (Karen), Jewel (Judy), Joyce (Christine), Alicia Kirby, Roxanna (Thomas) Kleinheinz; and his in-laws: Grace Meetz, Mary (Larry) Daul, Bill (Sue) VanDenEng, Kathy (Butch) Hopfensperger, Roger (Brenda) VanDenEng, Robert (Susan) Jacob, and James (Becky) VanDenEng. Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Deborah, infant daughter, Bobbi Meetz, stepson-in-law:  Richard Hawtrey, one sister: Jean Kolacheski, one brother: Conrad Meetz, and other relatives.  Private family services were held.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Ascension Calumet Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown toward our Dad for the last couple of years.
