Ruben W. Engel, age 95 of Garrow Villa, Brillion, died on Wednesday January 30, 2013. He was born on February 24, 1917 in the Town of Maple Grove, son of the late William and Caroline (Kanter) Engel. Ruben married Helen Vechart on May 29, 1946 in Brillion. He worked for Saunders Leasing in Brillion until his retirement in 1982. Ruben loved to fish, garden and play cards. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion and a member of the Brillion Senior Citizens. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy (Frank) Kempinger of Appleton, Donna (Dan) Mangin of Brillion, 3 granddaughters, Sara (Harley) Quarnstrom of DePere, Beth Mangin of Milwaukee, Erin Mangin of Brillion, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan Engel of Sussex, Vernon (Armella) Vechart of Wheaton, IL, Gerri Vechart of Brillion, Roger (Bonnie) Vechart of Brillion, and many other relatives and friends. Ruben was preceded in death by his wife Helen on March 27, 1970, 2 sisters, Ramona Jenkel and Mildred Plamann and a brother Willard Engel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 2, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. The Rev. Ross Henzi will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
