Rueben W. Paul, age 95, of rural Brillion, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was born on March 3, 1919 in the town of Rantoul, son of the late Otto and Hertha (Hintz) Paul. Rueben was a self educated man. On June 24, 1942, he married Edwina Seipel in Chilton. From October 1942 until October 1945, Rueben proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard. Following his honorable discharge, he and his wife farmed until their retirement but still resided on the home farm. He and Edwina are members of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Brillion. Rueben was a loving and generous Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. His hobbies were fishing, traveling, dancing, playing cards, cracking hickory nuts, and especially listening to music; be it hymns, big band, modern, country, or good old Bohemian waltzes and polkas, if it was on, he enjoyed it. Survivors include: his wife of 72 years: Edwina of rural Brillion; their five children: Donald (Mary) Paul of Fond du lac, Arlene (William) Klaetsch of Elkhart Lake, Frances (Mark Kohn) Paul of Fond du Lac, Phyllis Paul of Brillion, and Steven (Sue) Paul of Sherwood; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Michael (Jennie) Paul of MN, Joseph (Angie) Paul and their children: Henry and George of Milwaukee, April Paul D.V.M. of MA, Jennifer (Bryan Lee) Klaetsch and their children: Sadie and Gunnar of CO, Andrew (Onelia) Klaetsch and their children: Molly and Betsy of NY, Chad (Kristi) Christian and their child: Gage of CO, and Autumn and Emily Paul of Sherwood; one sister and brother-in-law: Delores and Alvin Koffarnus of Hilbert; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother: Helen Paul. At Rueben's request, he was cremated and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. Officiating at the Mass will be the Rev. Timothy Brandt. Burial will take place in Holy Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Holy Family Catholic Church building addition fund.
