Sarah M. Casper, age 92, formerly of Marytown and New Holstein, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
The former Sarah Stenz was born November 8, 1919 in the Town of Calumet near Marytown, to the late Corbin & Olivia (Freund) Stenz.
She attended New Holstein Schools. On November 10, 1936, she married Thomas Casper at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Her husband preceded her in death on January 20, 1991.
Sarah had worked for the Heus Farms and Kestell Furniture in addition to caring for her family and their home.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown and belonged to the Pipe Senior Citizens and New Holstein Senior Citizens. Sarah also belonged to the Fond du Lac County Homemakers for over 50 years.
Survivors include her four children, David (Prudence) Casper of Plymouth, Emelie Mitchell of Seattle, WA, George Casper of Winder, GA, and Thomas (Laura) Casper of Elkhart Lake; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Arlene Kestell of Sheboygan; and her sister-in-law, Pauline Stenz of Oshkosh.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her step mother, Ann (Hess) Stenz; her husband, Thomas Casper; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen Casper and Susan Casper; a son-in-law, Art Mitchell; her brother, Corbin Stenz; two sisters, Olive Stenz and Dorothy Gross; and two brothers-in-law, Alvin Gross and Donald Kestell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 21, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church N10232 County Road G New Holstein, WI "Marytown". Rev. Jospeh Coerber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call at St. Mary's Church on Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of services.
Memorials may be directed in Sarah's name to the Villa Loretto Nursing Home.
