Scott D. Stearns, 49, of New Holstein died unexpectedly Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home. He was born April 30, 1961 in Troy, Pennsylvania to Janine Weaver Maloney and the late Vernon Stearns. Scott graduated from New Holstein High School in 1979. He worked at the former K&R Lounge in New Holstein in his early years and at Ameriquip in New Holstein. He golfed and shot pool and darts in various area leagues. Survivors include his mother, Janine Maloney of New Holstein; his sister, Sandy (Michael) Freund of New Holstein; his uncles, Darol Weaver of Kiel and Ronald Weaver of New Holstein; his aunt, Donna (Bob) Benzschawel of New Holstein; his step-brothers and step-sisters from his step-father's side; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Stearns; his step-father, Aelred Maloney; his maternal grandparents, Herman & Elaine Weaver; his paternal grandparents; great uncles, and great aunts. Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein. Rev. James E. Werner will preside.
