Selvera "Sally" Loewe, age 99 of Hilbert, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2015 at her home in Hilbert. She was born on July 14, 1916 in Brillion, daughter of the late William and Caroline "Lena" (Wolf) Mack. Sally graduated from Brillion High School and Sheboygan Business College. She was Calumet County's Cheese Queen and participated at the state level in Milwaukee for the state crown. On June 6, 1939 she married Lloyd Loewe at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. She was Chief Clerk of Calumet County Agriculture Adjustment Administration in Chilton and a sales person for the Singleton Company selling specialty advertising items from 1970 to 1984. Sally and Lloyd owned and operated several businesses locally, the last being the Hilbert Drive-In on State Highway 57. She was the co-organizer for the first Hilbert Girl Scout organization. Sally was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert and the Ladies Aid. During retirement, Sally and Lloyd spent their winters in Florida and Arizona. While in Arizona, Sally was the office manager for Rock Shadows Trailer Resort in Apache Jct. Later on they spent winters in Panama City Beach, Florida and summers at Lake Metonga in Crandon. Sally loved spending time with her family. She had many talents and interests. She was an avid Brewer fan and a wonderful cook, especially noted for her cream puffs and shaum tortes. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing the piano and organ, and playing many card games. She loved to visit and share stories from the past 99 years and was a wonderful mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend. Sally will be missed greatly. Her family includes her three children, Robert (Eileen) Loewe of Panama City Beach, FL, Bonnie (Roger) Vechart of Brillion, Barb (Tom) Konen of Hilbert, 12 grandchildren, Jason (Jeri) Loewe of Ripon, Jon (Allyson) Loewe of Hudson, Jeff (Candace) Loewe of MN, David (Lindsay) Loewe of Oshkosh, Jeff (Kim) Vechart of FL, Michael (Tracy) Vechart of Jackson, Steven Vechart of Brillion, Tiffany (Jeremy) Piepenburg of Brillion, Tricia (John) Peters of MN, Todd (Jennifer) Konen of Hilbert, Troy (Melissa) Konen of Sherwood, Terry (Kristy) Konen of Hilbert, 27 great grandchildren, Keely and Abby Vechart, Morgan Vechart, Olivia Piepenburg, Luke, Emma, and Jackson Loewe, Drew, Haley, and Natalie Loewe, Samuel and Lauren, Loewe, Wesley and Harrison Loewe, Ellie, Hannah, Isaiah, and Isabel Peters, Tristan, Gabrielle, and Cashton Konen, Monet, Talen, and Tate Konen, Calvin, Caden, and Kaylia Konen, a sister Alice Mae Goldschmidt of Brillion, 3 nieces, Judy Nies, Betty Ott and Jill Ott and a nephew Rodney Malkoff. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, two great granddaughters, Riviera Konen and Kali Konen, brother-in-law Eldore Goldschmidt and a nephew Peter Malkoff. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert. The Rev. Timmothy Heath will officiate.
