Sharon Berg

February 5, 1946 — October 29, 2021

Sharon Berg, age 75, formerly of Brillion, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Anna John Resident Centered Care Community.

Sharon was born on February 5, 1946 in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Harvey and Bernice (Sommers) Hassemer.  She was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers, class of 1964.  On February 19, 1966, she married Dennis Berg at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders.  He preceded her in death on September 21, 1985.  Sharon worked a number of years at the Larson Canning Company and then at Oneida Casino until her retirement.  Sharon was very personable, making friends where ever she was.  She started her day always with a diet coke, and was always making home cooked meals and sewing everything from costumes to clothing for her family.  She enjoyed sewing as well as knitting and crocheting, bowling league with her sister and friends, and spending time with her family.

Sharon is survived by her children:  Traci Schad of Brillion and Amy (Steve) Kocian of rural Reedsville; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Aiden Jeske of Brillion and Justin (Meranda) Hillmann and their daughter, Natalia all of Green Bay; siblings: Carol Marks of Manitowoc, Ron Hassemer of Green Bay, Debra (Milton) Shimek of Brillion; Mary Ann (Artie) Milo of Las Vegas, NV; in-laws: Gordan (Marjorie) Berg of Oshkosh, Carol Sengbusch of Brillion, and Orrin Berg of West Chester, OH; other relatives, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Nancy Erdman, an infant brother: Dale Allen Hassemer, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Isak and Olga Berg, and in-laws: Judy Berg, Gene Marks, Myron Sengbusch, Darlene Berg, Donna (Jerry) Dallmann, Lorraine (Ted) Damm, Stanley (Nathalyn) Berg, Mel (Rosemary) Berg, Eugene (LaVerne) Berg, Norman (Marge) Berg, and other relatives.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home, 215 S. Main St. in Brillion.  Officiating will be Rev. Chris Burg.  Burial will be at a later date in Brillion Community Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Anna John’s Nursing Home, especially nurses Gina and Paula, and Dr. Flood who “led Mom on many waltzes across Texas.”  Your kindness to Mom and to us was very much appreciated.
