Shirley Ann (Voelker) Kubale, age 95, of New Holstein, residing at Willowdale Nursing Home, died peacefully Monday, June 7, 2021, with her husband and family at her side. She was born in St. Anna on November 17, 1925, to Edmund & Hildegard (Hoehl) Voelker. She graduated from Kiel High School as class valedictorian in 1942. On September 14, 1948, she married Donald "Bud" Kubale at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Along with her husband, Shirley devoted her time to raising her three children with all the love a mother could give. Shirley worked at Hart-Carter and Flexiclog as a clerk until her children were born; and later also worked for A T Hipke and Sons for 18 years. Shirley then volunteered at Holy Rosary Rectory for a number of years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish her entire adult life, the Marian Devotion Society, and the Christian Women's Society; serving for a time as an officer. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and was active in parish work. Shirley is survived by her husband, Donald "Bud"; her three children, Karen (Robert) Rautmann of Manitowoc, Kristine (John) Esch of Sheboygan, and Mark (Becky) Kubale of West Bend; five grandchildren, Dustin (Joyce) Price of Manitowoc, Chad Rautmann of Chicago, Adam Rautmann of Milwaukee, Julie (Joel) Miesfeld of Brookfield, and Laura (Matt) Kurth of Morgantown, WV; eight great-grandchildren, Alexander and Joshua Price, Sophie, Eleanor, Roslyn, and Clara Miesfeld, Audrey and Gretchen Kurth, and the ninth great-grandchild expected in August. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edmund & Hildegard Voelker; her infant brothers, Tommy & Bobby; and her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Wilbert & Lucille Kubale. A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Shirley's family at Holy Rosary Church on Friday, June 11th from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM. A Memorial Fund will be established in her name. Shirley's family would like to thank the entire staff of Willowdale Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care. Also, to Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the care and guidance they gave us these past three years. You all were there to give her your hands to hold when we could not be with her. We are so grateful that she had you.
