Sr. Mary Michael Gleissner SSCK, age 94, of Mount Calvary, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 20, 2024.

She was born Marilyn Rose Gleissner on July 22, 1929, in Mequon, WI to John & Stella (Thielen) Gleissner. Sr. Michael attended Long Fellow Public School in Mequon and Mequon High School. She joined the Congregation of Sister Servants of Christ the King in Mount Calvary, WI on January 10, 1950, and professed her vows in August 1952, just before her brother, Fr. Leopold Gleissner professed his vows as a priest.

Sr. Michael did domestic work at the St. Lawrence Seminary in Mount Calvary until 1953, when she went to Edgeley, ND to work at Manor St. Joseph until 1990, when she returned to Mount Calvary to work at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home. Her passion here was assisting in activity work. Whether it was assisting the volunteers with the quilting, making cards, crocheting, weaving, gardening, and craft work, Sr. Michael enjoyed interacting with the many volunteers. A lot of the products produced by her, and the volunteers, were sold in the gift shop at the Villa Loretto which she managed for many years.

Survivors include her brother, Fr. Leopold Gleissner of Fond du Lac; her two sisters, Kathleen Mertens of Waterloo, IL and Rose Marie Tabler of Big Bend; three nieces, Maribeth, Becky, and Connie; three nephews, Chris, Mike, and Mark; great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. Sr. Michael is also survived by Sr. Stephen Bloesl & Sr. Mary Theresa Vandebergh of the Congregation of Sister Servants of Christ the King.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John & Stella Gleissner; two brothers-in-law, Robert Mertens and Clarence Tabler; and a niece, Cynthia Tabler.

A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM Cap will officiate along with Rev. Leopold Gleisnner, OFM Cap, Rev. Oliver Bambenek, OFM Cap, and Deacon Bernard "Pat" Knier concelebrating. Sr. Michael will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at a later time.

Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Sr. Michael's family at the church in Mount Calvary, Friday, May 3rd from 3:00 PM until 5:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cristo Rey Ranch.
