Stanley "Stan" N. Olson, 80, of New Holstein, passed into Eternal Life peacefully Friday, January 19, 2018.
He was born June 2, 1937, in Watertown, WI, the only child to Elmer & Esther (Gruel) Olson. He was educated in the Watertown Public School System and graduated from Watertown Hih School in 1955.
On August 13, 1955, Stan met the love of his life, Karen Riley and they were married on October 26, 1957, in Hartford, WI; Karen preceded him in death on February 19, 2009. Stan worked in the meat cutting business as a meat cutter with Sentry Foods in the Milwaukee area from January 6, 1958, until his retirement in June of 1999. He enjoyed his work and took great pride in it.
In his younger days, Stan enjoyed camping, traveling, and snowmobiling. During the last years of his life, Stan was a volunteer driver for Calumet County; transporting people to doctor and therapy appointments. He also enjoyed visiting with and helping others.
Stan was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of New Holstein. He also was a member of the Optimist Club in New Holstein.
Stan took great pride in donating blood for numerous years. He donated over 20 gallons of blood during his lifetime. He was an avid Packer fan and also enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers.
Stan is survived by his son, Eric (Cindy) Olson of Mayville; four grandchildren, Kristin Olson, Katelyn (Scott) Mackay, Aaron Olson, and Shaun Olson; two great-granddaughters, Marley and Haley. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Karen.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Avenue, New Holstein, WI 53061.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Saturday, February 3, from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
