Thomas A. Mand, 68, of Fish Creek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary, WI, where he resided for the past week.
He was born May 11, 1949, to Germaine L. (Schneider) Mand and the late Gilbert "Gibby" H. Mand.
Tom grew up in Mount Calvary, WI. He attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1967. On April 15, 1968, he entered in the Army serving during the Vietnam War until his Honorable Discharge on April 6, 1970.
On January 18, 2006, he married Kathleen Beck in Costa Rica.
Tom had worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein for almost 40 years. After retiring from Tecumseh, he enjoyed working alongside his wife, Kathleen, in their art gallery (Dovetail Gallery) in Egg Harbor, Door County.
He was a member of the Mount Calvary American Legion Abler-Engel Post 454.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Mand Beck; his son, Benjamin Mand (Jodi Olson); his step children, Tony (Lori) Gerner, Amy Daun, Bill (Cathy) Topp, Mike (Chandra) Topp, Kevin (Mandi) Topp, and Karri Topp; many loving grandchildren; his mother, Germaine Mand; brothers & sisters, Robert (Janice) Mand, Dennis Mand and his partner, Kathleen Geis, Paul (Elizabeth) Mand, Margaret (Rev. Liandra) Arellano, Sandra (Peter) Halbur, Beverly Mand (Mark Thomas), and David Mand and his partner, Penny Mortensen. He is further survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Gilbert "Gibby" Mand; an infant sister, Theresa Mand; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Mand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Larry Abler, OFM Cap will officiate. Military Rites conducted by State Military Honors in conjunction with the Mount Calvary American Legion Abler-Engel Post 454, will take place following the mass. Tom will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Mount Calvary.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the church in Mount Calvary on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
Memorials may be directed to Tom's family for Open Door Bird Sanctuary in Door County and/or Holy Land Food Pantry.
