Timothy H. Meyer, age 64, died at home on Thursday, September 6, 2012, fifteen months after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Tim was born on May 3, 1948 in Elkhorn, WI to Helen and Ralph Meyer. He graduated from Wilmot High School in 1966 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education with a minor in Natural Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1971. Tim married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Pierce, on October 12, 1968 in Richmond, IL. They had two children, Jennifer and Christopher. For many years, Tim was an agriculture and vocational arts teacher. He taught at New Holstein High School from 1975-1981 and at Chilton High School from 1996 to 2011. A natural teacher, he inspired and guided many students throughout the years. He also owned Tee Time Golf Shop in Chilton, WI from 1990-1999. In addition, Tim worked as an agricultural lender, an insurance agent and the Calumet County agriculture agent. In 1995, he spent time in Ireland with his wife where they both volunteered with People to People International. Tim also enjoyed his work with Ledge View Nature Center and AFS student exchange program. Tim is survived by his wife, Nancy; two children, Jen Meyer of Princeton, NJ and Chris Meyer (wife Michele) of Middleton, WI; two grandchildren, Madi and Sam; four siblings, Georgia Hershiser (husband David) of Deltona, FL, Randy Meyer (wife Cindy) of Gainesville, FL, Scott Meyer of Alachua, FL and Teri Kennemer (husband Mike) of Longwood, FL. Preceding him in death were his parents Helen and Ralph Meyer. An open house celebrating Tim's life will be held at the Altona Supper Club (North Room) in New Holstein, WI on Saturday, September 15th from 11 am – 3 pm.
