Veronica A. Williams, 87, of New Holstein died unexpectedly Friday, February 18, 2011, at her residence. She was born February 17, 1924 in the Town of Schleswig in Manitowoc County to the late Paul & Mathilda (Kautzer) LaCroix. On June 2, 1945, she married Roland Daun and they lived in the Charlesburg area. Roland died on May 24, 1972. On July 21, 1977, she married Mattie Williams of St. Anna and they resided in rural New Holstein area. Mattie preceded her in death on October 15, 1989. Veronica worked at Kohler Co. and at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein. She retired in 1978. Veronica was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and its Christian Women's Society, a member of Catholic Knights, a perpetual member of the Mission Society in Chilton, a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, a Red Cross Volunteer and a member of the Retiree Club of Union Lodge 1259. Survivors include her two step-sons, Robert Williams and Lester (Barb) Williams both of New Holstein; two step-grandchildren, Judy (Brent) Killackey and Joseph (Carrie) Williams; six step-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Marvin (Ruth) LaCroix of Sheboygan Falls. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Roland Daun; her second husband, Mattie Williams; a step-son, Tom Williams; a step-daughter-in-law, Lea Williams; her sister, Mildred (Alvin) Modra, and a brother, Hugo (Helen) LaCroix. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street in New Holstein. Rev. Harold Berryman, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Charlesburg. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
