Virginia A. "Ginny" Kandler, age 95, of New Holstein, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, with her family at her side at Willowdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein. She was born November 18, 1919, in St. Anna,¬ WI to Frank & Margaret (Dorn) Meyer. Ginny attended St. Anna Catholic Grade School in St. Anna. On June 1, 1939, she married Leonard "Jack" Kandler in St. Anna, WI. She resided in New Holstein for several years and then at Colgate, WI for 53 years; after which she moved back to New Holstein for the past seven years. She retired from Tecumseh Engine Products in Grafton Ginny was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the Christian Women's Society. She enjoyed reading and playing canasta. Ginny and her husband, Jack enjoyed spending winter months in Mississippi. Survivors include her son, Elroy Kandler of New Holstein; four grandchildren, Matthew (Michele) Kandler of Hartford, WI, Amy (Craig) Bintz of Trenton, WI, Kathy Kandler of Milwaukee and Susan (Nick) Krikie of Colgate, WI; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Erna Thiedeman of New Holstein; sister-in-law, Janet Meyer-Steinmetz and her husband Nick Steinmetz of Charlesburg. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jack in 2006; her son, Terrance; an infant daughter, Maryann and two other sisters; six brothers, three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Parish Director, Joe Zenk assisting. Cremation will follow traditional services. Inurnment will take place in the St. Anna Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may greet the family at Holy Rosary Church Saturday morning, July 25th from 9:30am until 10:45am.
