Virginia C. Rahmer, 84, formerly of rural St. Cloud, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
The former Virginia Schmitz was born March 20, 1930, in the Town of Marshfield near Mount Calvary to the late Mathias & Ottilia (Schneider) Schmitz.
Virginia attended Holy Cross Grade School in Mount Calvary. On May 7, 1955, she married Donald Rahmer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary.
She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church.
In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by seven children, Paul (Cheryl) Rahmer of Fond du Lac, Robert (Denise) Rahmer of Fond du Lac, Steve (Karen) Rahmer of Fond du Lac, Thomas (Sheri) Rahmer of Montello, Ann (Ken) Meyers of Malone, Nancy (Russ) Heil of Oneida, and Michael Rahmer (friend, Lori) of Mount Calvary; 12 grandchildren, Melissa (Dallas) Kissinger, Brian (Ashley) Rahmer, Shawn King, Nathan Rahmer, Nicole Rahmer, Randi (Jon) Emig, Katie (Dan) Kusilek, April (Tim) Miller, Zachary Meyers, Christopher Meyers, Miranda Rahmer, and Marissa Rahmer; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Nettie Pauly of Mount Calvary; three brothers, Ambrose (Helen) Schmitz of Mount Calvary, Anthony (Mae) Schmitz of Mount Calvary, and Alvin (Donna) Schmitz of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Zona Schmitz of Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Mathias & Ottilia Schmitz; a son, Charles Rahmer; two sisters, Marcella Wagner & Elizabeth "Elsie" Sippel; two infant brothers, Adrian & Albin; and five brothers, Alex, Alfred, Arnold, Alphonse, and Andrew Schmitz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 County Road W Mount Calvary, WI 53057.
Entombment will take place at the Shrine of Rest Chapel Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Family and friends may call at the church Saturday morning, January 17th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.
