Wallace (Wally) J. Fischer

Wallace (Wally) J. Fischer, age 80, of Brillion, entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 30, 1930 in Lark, WI, son of the late John and Isabel (Miller) Fischer. He graduated from Brillion High School class of 1948. On October 15, 1949 Wallace married Dorothy Seefeldt at Black Creek. He worked for the Brillion Iron Works for 44 years, retiring in 1992. He was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ in Brillion, serving on many church committees. He also served as church treasurer and was on the church council for many years. Wallace participated in many sports activities and enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams throughout his life. He especially enjoyed musky fishing, camping and cottaging with his family. Wallace is survived by his wife Dorothy of 61 years, a daughter; Cheryl (Glen) Benzschawel of Appleton, three sons; John Fischer of Brillion, Dan (Lynn) Fischer of Cedarburg, Gary (Tammy) Fischer of Brillion, ten grandchildren; Laura, Dr. James, Michael (Kara), Paul (Nicole) Benzschawel; Rachel, Ruth, Anna and Stephen Fischer; Dana (Tom) Marsh and Emily Fischer. He is further survived by six great grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law Caroline (Allan) Wolfmeyer of Mequon. Wallace was preceded in death by his parents and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunt, uncles and friends. A celebration of Wallaces life will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 at Peace United Church of Christ in Brillion. Officiating will be the Rev. Kris Borns. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Dr. Patrick Mansky, his associates and staff of the Bellin Health Cancer Team in Green Bay for their compassion and support. We would also like to thank Lynn at Unity Hospice Care for her kindness and compassion. A special thank you to Rev. Kris for her unconditional love and support for the past two years.
