Wallace "Wally" E. Stemper, formerly of New Holstein, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Field of Dreams Assisted Living in Kiel.
He was born April 7, 1922, in St. Anna to Edward & Elrene (Mahlberg) Stemper. He attended school in New Holstein.
Wally served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II in the Panama and Puerto Rico Region from August 1942 until November 1945.
On July 26, 1944, he married Anna M. Thelen at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
Wally had worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and a member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; his two sons, Dan (Leah) Stemper of Arkdale, WI and Bob (Kathy) Stemper of Austin, TX; a grandson, Sean (Kristin) Stemper; four step grandchildren, Brandon & Jeremy Waterman and Shawn & Carrie Rowland-Stemper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Myron (Eileen) Stemper.
Per Wally's wishes, private burial will take place at Holy Rosary Cemetery in New Holstein.
