Walter R. Loehr Walter R. Loehr, age 73, of Mt. Calvary, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born February 5, 1939 to the late Raymond & Loretta (Schmitz) Loehr. Walter attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1957. He served in the Army. On June 18, 1962 he married Marian Meier at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past June. He farmed in the Town of Marshfield near Mount Calvary. Walter was a member of St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary and the Mt. Calvary American Legion Abler-Engel Post 454. He was also a member of the AMVETS North Fond du Lac Post 41. Survivors include his wife, Marian of Mt. Calvary; two daughters, Viola (Daniel) Steffes of St. Cloud, Janet (Mike) Furtak of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Danielle (Jon) Rentmeester, Thomas Steffes, Jessica Steffes, Dylan Steffes, Nicole Furtak, and Jason Furtak; 1 great grandson, Asher; In-laws, Marilyn (Gene) Smet, Ben (Arlene) Meier, Eddie Meier, Dorothy (Donald) Diederich, Melvin (Rosie) Meier, BR. Raymond Meier; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded by his parents; his two infant daughters, Marie & Betty; an infant son, Henry; and his brother, Eugene Loehr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church, 308 County W Mt. Calvary. Rev Gary Wegner OFM Cap. will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mt. Calvary. Family and friends may call at St. Isidore Parish Holy Cross Church on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of services.
