William “Bill” Leroy Herdt, age 84, of Reedsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 with his family by his side.
Bill was born on June 6, 1941 in Galatia, Kansas, son of the late William & Edna (Wagner) Herdt. He was a graduate of Olathe High School in Olathe Kansas, class of 1960. Bill married his love, Zola Ray, on September 29, 1962 at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Olathe, Kansas. Bill took a course at the GM Body School after graduation. This developed his love of restoring classic vehicles and vintage campers.
Bill was employed with Rogers Manufacturing Company in Olathe Kansas for 23 years. He later joined the Ariens Company in Brillion, Wisconsin for 28 years until his retirement in 2004. Bill enjoyed carpentry, fishing and camping. He and his wife enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren whom called them “Grampie and Nan” He enjoyed being busy and always had a project to complete.
Bill is survived by his wife, Zola Eileen of 64 years; their two sons and daughters-in-law: Timothy (Dawn) of Collins Wisconsin and Erick (Joy) of De Pere Wisconsin; grandchildren: Jeremiah, Chelsie, Hannah, Stephanie, Rachel, Trevor (Francesca), Darren, Collin (Olivia), Cadie, Liam, and Prudence; great-grandchildren: Claudia, Arianna, Chloe, Henry, Wyatt, Genesis, and Leland; great-great-grandchildren: Oakley and Baker; in-laws: Karen (Dennis) Scrivner of Marshallville, IA, Kevin (Carol) Ray of Creighton, MO, Bob Pembleton of Alaska; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Donny; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Lee & Hazel (Purcell) Ray; sister-in-law: Hazel Lee Pembelton; and other relatives.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Pielhop Funeral Home in Brillion. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Weiers.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday evening, April 30, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pielhop Funeral Home in Brillion. The visitation will continue Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
