William B. Doss Jr., 80, of New Holstein passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center in Chilton following a lengthy struggle with coronary artery disease and diabetes. He was born July 15, 1937, in Columbia, MO, to William B. Doss Sr. and Nellie C. (Fuller) Doss. Bill grew up in Ventura, CA. On February 7, 1959, he married Margaret M. Mahlich at Travis Air Force Base in California. Bill served in the US Airforce from 1954 until 1968 stationed at air force bases in Spokane, WA, California, Guam, Germany, and Texas. He continued his service with the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the New Holstein American Legion Post 124. After moving to Wisconsin in 1974, he worked as a car salesman and cable tv installer. For his 80th birthday on July 15, 2017 Bill went charter fishing on Lake Michigan with his sons and caught the first fish; he had a great time and still mentioned the adventure. Bill was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; four sons, William B. Doss III, Michael (Lisa) Doss, Mark Doss, and Jeff Doss; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Eileen "Cookie" (William A.) Mitchell; his sister-in-law, Emma (Wilfrid) Schmitz; his brothers-in-law, Clifford Kempf and Francis Mahlich. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Isidora Mahlich; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Kempf. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Charlestown, N3298 County Road T, New Holstein, WI 53061.
