William "Bill" R. Hau, age 77, of New Holstein, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 4, 2013, after suffering an apparent heart attack at the family farm doing what he loved to do. He was born July 21, 1936, in St. Cloud to the late Albert M. & Marjorie A. (Knaus) Hau. Bill graduated from New Holstein High School in 1954. On October 19, 1957, he married Virginia Krebsbach at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter. He and Ginny moved to the farm in the Town of New Holstein in 1964 and raised their family. Bill was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; his five children, Ronald (Denise) Hau of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, August (Karen) Hau of Hartford, Sharon (Mark) Hughes of Verona, Edward Hau & his wife Nicole Allen of Oakton, VA, Marvin (Ann Marie) Hau of Carmel, IN; 10 grandchildren, Timothy Hau and his wife, Katie Jones, Samantha Hau, Dustin Hau, Joshua Hau, Rachel Hau, Regan Hau, Oliver Hau, Josephine Hau, Eric Hau, and Isaac Hau; two step grand-children, Jennifer (Mike) Olson and Julie (Matt) Vilven; three step great-grandchildren, Hudson, Britta, and Lilly Mae. He is further survived by his brothers & sisters, Peter (Lois) Hau of Stockbridge, Barbara (Gordon) Birschbach of Milwaukee, Michael (Patricia) Hau of Germantown, Sr. Mary Hau of Milwaukee, John (Darlene) Hau of Brothertown, Karen (Robert) Urfer of Pomona, CA, Doris Plautz of New Holstein and her special friend, Mark; his sister-in-law, Lorraine (Martin) Birschbach of St. Peter. Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert & Marjorie Hau; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur & Mathilda Krebsbach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Harold Berryman and Deacon Pat Knier will officiate.
