After a courageous battle with esophageal cancer, Yvonne Krueger of Brillion, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Waupun Christian Home in Waupun. Yvonne was born on September 3, 1935 on a farm outside of Forest Junction. She graduated as salutatorian from Chilton High School in 1953. She then earned her degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1957. She started her teaching career in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. On August 15, 1959 she married Eugene Krueger at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton. She started teaching at Brillion Elementary School in 1959 and taught there until her retirement in 1999. Although she retired, her deep passion for education continued. She was the District Director for the Wisconsin Retired Educators Association and was the Secretary of the Calumet County Retired Educators. She was also an active volunteer at the Endries Performing Arts Center at the Billion High School and was one of the charter members of the Brillion Red Hats. She attended St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church and was the childrens choir director for many years. Survivors include her daughter Karyn and son-in-law Tom Radek of Cary, IL and their children, Kaysi and Robby, her daughter Beth and son-in-law Kory Volbright of Oakfield, WI and their children, Kaitlyn and Kennedy. Other survivors include a sister-in-law Rita Krueger of Potter, a brother and sister-in-law Earl & Vernice of Potter, and a brother-in-law Lloyd Krueger of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Krueger, a daughter, Kay Krueger, her parents, Cornelius and Lucille Kosmosky, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Theodor and Selma Krueger, and a sister, June Kosmosky. Funeral service will be at 12:30 PM on Monday, August 2, 2010 at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Brillion. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brillion. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 1, 2010. There will be no visitation on Monday before the service.
