Sarah Pielhop

Owner, Funeral Director, & Preplanning Agent

Sarah started her career as an Apprentice Funeral Director at Pfeffer Funeral Home in her hometown of Manitowoc and worked there in the Summers from 2003-2005. She went on to work as an Apprentice while attending Mortuary School in Milwaukee at Altstadt-Tyborski-Ermece-McLeod Funeral Homes (now part of Heritage Funeral Homes) from 2005-2006. Once she was licensed as a Funeral Director, she was hired by Harder Funeral Home in Brookfield where she worked from 2006-2007. In 2007, Sarah decided the "big city" wasn't for her, and she moved back to her home county of Manitowoc County. She was rehired by Pfeffer Funeral Home, and also worked at the two other locations that the Pfeffer family owned at the time; Klein and Stangel Funeral Home in Two Rivers and Christianson Deja Funeral Home in Valders. Sarah actually lived above Christianson and Deja Funeral Home for a year before purchasing a home in Two Rivers. She worked with this group for 3 years from 2007-2010. Then in 2010, Sarah's college roommate, Monica (Schuster) Hanson and Monica's Mom, Dorene Schuster mentioned to Fuzzy that Sarah might be interested in a career move. Sarah interviewed with Fuzzy and Kathy Wieting and started working for the Wieting's in Brillion and Reedsville in August of 2010. Sarah worked with Fuzzy for 10 years before his retirement. That is when Sarah and her husband Jason Pielhop purchased Wieting Funeral Home, Inc of Brillion and Reedsville on September 25, 2020.

Sarah has been a licensed funeral director with the state of Wisconsin for 18 years. She has also completed and is licensed with the state of Wisconsin as a Life Insurance Agent for Preplanning Funeral Burial Contracts. Sarah has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, class of 2005, as well as a degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College in Mortuary Science, class of 2006. While in Mortuary School, Sarah received the Ed Heidenrich Restorative Art Scholarship Award for her class year.

She serves on multiple boards and is a member of multiple groups in our area: the Brillion Optimist Club, the newly reinstated 501c3 grow FOUNDATION, Inc., the Brillion Area Family of Funds (BAFF), was an alderperson with the City of Brillion from 2019-2022, is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Funeral Service and Cremation Alliance of Wisconsin, is a member of the Manitowoc County Chamber and is a past member of the Manitowoc County Chamber SAIL Young Professionals where she received one of their Future 15 Professionals awards in 2009, is a member of the Brillion Chamber of Commerce where she was selected as Young Professional of the Year 2018, and assisted to help bring Habitat for Humanity's Rock the Block to Brillion in May of 2019.

Sarah's parents Richard and Cheri Seifert still live in Manitowoc, and that is where she met her now husband Jason in July of 2008. He worked and still does work for the City of Manitowoc as a Fire Fighter and paramedic. The couple married on December 31st, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo in Manitowoc. They have two daughters, Julia and Nora.

Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their girls, vacationing, traveling "Up North" to her parents cabin, reading, and volunteering.
